1.1.2&3 Editing Skills lesson - Analysis and reconstruction of a Teasertrailer
Trends in Trailers.
To recreate the edit of a teaser trailer - skills Final Cut
Starter: Suicide Squad - a film edited by Trailer Producers
Look at response form fans and critics and the Trailer
- A Evaluate how your trailer uses conventions of form
- B Create your own version using stock footage
- C Analyse the structure and conventions of Teaser Trailer
- D Categorise and identify terms with examples
Teach each other using notes sheets
List the current trends in Trailers and Horror Trailers
- C - What is the difference in how they are made?
- B - What are the reasons for these trends?
- A - What issues do these aspects have on the success or audience enjoyment of the film
Task: Deconstruct an existing Teaser Trailer for a current Horror campaign of your choice.
- Mise en scene - setting, characters, set pieces - search for Shutterstock
- Editing - strobes, pace, montage, jump scare, structure (b-m-e), transitions
- Sound - drones, horns, climbing strings
- Titles - production company, title card, billing block, release date
Task: Using your Teaser Trailer from Summer, download from Youtube and improve the work, applying the above conventions. Add in footage using Shutter Stock

Prep Work: individually choose a synopsis and read the script.
