Intro, The Brief & Success Criteria

Welcome to the Media Blog for the coursework. Stay tuned for further updates, information and weekly reminders. Both A2 classes can see this blog so you can share ideas and feedback on each others projects by leaving comments.

This is a reminder of how the unit works. You must produce:
A Promotional Campaign for the release of a Horror Film (including Trailer, Poster and Magazine Cover)

Research & Planning (20 marks) Individual Research from Transition work, plus group Planning

Construction - (60 marks) consisting of Main Task plus Ancillaries

Evaluation (20 marks) - Shared group activity

The Research & Planning must be displayed on your group blog, along with comments reflecting on and monitoring your decisions - if you can relate this to show what you have learned and analysed about Horror trailers even better! Include photos, youtube videos, sketches, skills development work, influences, mood boards etc that relate to your research.

Get in the habit of blogging regularly - it will support your grade.

Deadlines: These are non-negotiable, and missing these limits your marks - see the marking criteria where it specifies 'time management'.

See the attached images of the Level 4 criteria so you know what you are aiming for - and look at the selected links to A grade projects from last years Media students.

Key Tip: You are making the campaign for a new Horror Film so look at some films being currently released and look at their campaigns - promotions, adverts, websites, guest appearances, documentaries, pop ups, merchandise, magazines, etc.
